ANGUS Capital announces the acquisition of Capsol, the leader in architectural hardware in Quebec
Montreal, January 20, 2026 - ANGUS Capital, a private investment fund specializing in the acquisition of Quebec SMEs in traditional industries, announced today that it has completed a transaction to acquire Capsol, a leading distributor and assembler of architectural hardware in Quebec. The transaction, which closed on January 1, 2026, combines the strengths of Stéphane Lelièvre, president and founder of Capsol, with the expertise of ANGUS Capital to accelerate the company’s growth in the institutional, commercial, and residential markets.
Founded in 1980, Capsol has established itself as a trusted partner for major construction projects in Quebec, boasting Royalmount, seniors' housing (maisons des aînés), and several schools among its key achievements. With locations in Montreal and Quebec City, the company stands out for its ability to deliver turnkey solutions, from distribution to installation.
“Capsol has built a solid reputation in the market thanks to its high level of service and rigorous project management,” said Nicolas Pinto, co-founder and managing partner of ANGUS Capital. “Stéphane and his team have created a company with a strong family culture and committed employees who are dedicated to the organization’s success. This is exactly the type of partnership we are looking for.”
Stéphane Lelièvre, who remains president and shareholder of Capsol, expressed confidence in this new phase: "After 15 years of developing Capsol, I wanted to join forces with partners who understand our industry and share our vision for growth. ANGUS Capital brings the expertise and resources we need to seize new opportunities, while preserving what makes us strong: our team and our trusted relationship with our clients."
This fourth investment platform for the ANGUS I Fund confirms the Fund's continued interest in the building materials sector in Quebec. “We firmly believe in the growth potential of this sector,” explained Dev A. Coossa, co-founder and managing partner of ANGUS Capital. “The massive public investments planned for infrastructure in Canada are creating solid opportunities for well-positioned companies such as Capsol.”
The company intends to continue its development by consolidating its presence in the Quebec market, expanding its service offering, and exploring strategic growth opportunities in the coming years.
